Peacock Herl is a staple fly tying material that should be on everyone's tying bench. It is a material that is used for bodies for nymphs like Prince nymphs and Pheasant Tail nymphs. It can also be used for collars on nymphs and emergers as well as toppings on streamers. We have even tied a simple peacock herl body with hackle for a tail and caught lots of trout on that simple trout nymph.
