Black Gnat

The Black Gnat is an old English pattern and is actually a terrestrial imitation. We have all been on the water when huge clouds of gnats are present and this is when this old school pattern shines. This dark pattern also becomes very visible to the angler in low-light conditions. Try running dry dropper rig under these circumstance or anytime dark mayflies are present. We also really like the Black Gnat as a panfish fly.
