Calf tail hair is used on a wide variety of fly patterns. Calf tail being used as a fly tying material dates way back. Classic trout flies like the Mickey Finn and Black Nosed Dace tie up well using calf tail. Try some on small Clouser Minnows for fly fishing for panfish. This a great fly tying material for wings on bonefish flies.
