The Humpy works well in freestone type trout streams where you need a high riding buoyant dry fly. Mountain cutthroat streams and Humpies are a great match. It is a great dry fly for fishing the 100 mile riffle of the Madison River in Montana too. The Humpy is one of our favorite small stream brook trout flies.
