Dave Whitlock’s Hare Sculpin is one of the most effective smallmouth bass flies we fly fish with. The Whitlock Hare Sculpin is especially effective fly fishing smallmouth bass rivers. We have found it to be effective as a goby imitation for fly fishing smallmouth in the Great Lakes. Don’t be afraid to throw the Hare Sculpin at trout. It is a very effective trout fly on Wisconsin’s Brule River and will work on trout streams all over.
