Based on Larry Dahlberg’s Dahlberg Diver fly the Umpqua Swimming Frog is a favorite fly for fly fishing smallmouth and largemouth bass. Fish it as a top-water bass fly or fish it on a sink tip line like a crankbait. Pat Ehlers from The Fly Fishers has caught some big fish fly fishing for bass at the Bass n’ Fly Bass Tournament on California’s Delta.
