Abel SDS Fly Reel

SDS stands for Sealed Drag Saltwater and the Abel SDS is built to handle gamefish of all sizes in the saltwater and freshwater for that matter. The Abel SDS features the smoothness, power and reliability of its smaller counterparts only in a larger format for bigger fish. Available in 3 sizes, SDS will handle everything from bonefish to large tackle-busting fish like tarpon with no problem. While designed for these saltwater species it is also a great reel for large freshwater gamefish like salmon, steelhead and golden dorado.

The SDS features a drag system with over 20 pounds of stopping power with a unique multi-disc drag system that is sealed to keep out nasty stuff like saltwater and other nasty things.

The Abel SDS is available in 3 sizes for everything from bonefish and steelhead to large tackle-busting tarpon.

The SDS was the winner of the 2016 ICAST/IFTD best new saltwater reel award. We absolutely love this reel.
