Made with full-grain leather and stitchdown construction, these wading boots are designed to be recrafted as they age. Features

This version of the Foot Tractor adds Patagonia’s aluminum bar system to theVibram sticky rubber sole for the best in-water traction. These bars are hard enough to cut through slime and other slippery nuisances while also being soft enough to conform to the surface of rocks. The ultimate in durability, support and traction.

Vibram Soles The gold standard in outdoor sole technology. Foot Tractor models equipped with Vibram Idrogrip formulated specifically for slip resistance on wet rock. River Salt boots feature Vibram Megagrip for all-terrain, all-condition grip on both wet and dry surfaces. Extra aluminum bars and shoelaces included with boots.
Supportive Midsoles Comfort & support. Foot Tractors feature a dual-midsole design made from waterproof, military grade materials. River Salt features an innovative bi-fit board midsole combining the shank, lasting board and midsole into one piece, reducing weight without support sacrifice.
Full-Grain Leather Stout full-grain leather that is tough, long lasting and able to mold to the shape of the foot. Treated with a proprietary, PFC-free saline solution tanning process that greatly improves resistance to breakdown, even in the salt. Able to be reconditioned for incredible length of life.
Durable Nylon Uppers made with heavy duty, 1,000 denier nylon panels that stand up against the harshest, most abrasive environments. Uppers are free of unnecessary foam and utilize a perforation system tested and proven in Danner’s combat boots. Speed lacing system is fast and super secure.
Recraftable Stitchdown Construction The same stitchdown construction Danner has perfected in it’s work, hiking and military boots allow for resoling and even reconditioning by Danner. All soles wear out, this construction and capability ensures these will be the last pair of boots you’ll ever need.

I am very happy with my Patagonia/Danner Foot Tractor Wading Boots with the Aluminum Bars on the soles. First, the Fly Fishers Fly Shop has a sale on the boots that reduced their cost by $150.00. This was an exceptional buy. Over the phone Jared was helpful in guiding me towards the correct boot size. I had done some reading about the boots, had called Patagonia, and decided the aluminum bars on the boot soles would give me the best traction. When the boots arrived I tried different combinations of socks and insoles to get the fit just right. The boots are a bit big for me so I’ve managed to add thicker socks and a felt insole to tighten them up. I can say the boots are beautifully made. They are comfortable to walk in, and they give good ankle and arch support. In the water they supply incredible traction. I have never experienced this kind of traction with felt soles, rubber soles, or rubber soles with studs. These are great wading boot. I am happy they are put together in America. I am also happy that they will be the last boots I will buy for wading. They were made with the idea that worn out parts on them would be replaced. I thank Danner/Patagonia for coming together on these boots. I thank the Fly Fishers Fly Shop for their generous sale, and their excellent customer service. I'm 65 and have been wading rivers, fly fishing, for a long time. Over the years, I've owned several pairs of wading boots. Now that I'm older, I don't seem to have the agility and balance I possessed as a younger man. Last year, I slipped and fell in the river twice and wound up with water in my waders. I wanted a boot that had some good grip and won't slip. These Patagonia by Danner boots with the aluminum bars work good. Now, the first thing I noticed was their weight. Having the aluminum bars and thick vibram soles they are a heavy boot and I was a little concerned. When walking in them they reminded me of "Frankenstein" boots. I haven't done any long hikes in them and I'm not sure how they'll work for that. I suspect they may get tiresome. However, when wading in the water the weight doesn't seem to be an issue. They have a large "footprint" (no pun intended) and a very thick, solid, vibram sole. I've now used them several times wading the Henry's Fork of the Snake River. The Henry's is full of larger sized round type rocks and boulders. The river bottom is very uneven and it's easy to stumble, trip, and end up in the drink. I've found these boots to be very stable and having the aluminum bars they don't slip. In fact, I almost found myself stumbling because they grab so good. Now, they are definitely a bit spendy when compared to other wading boots. However, in my opinion, they have that high quality and workmanship that "Made in USA" Danner Boots are known for. I suspect they will be the last pair of wading boots I'll ever need to buy.
