The Abel SDF Fly Reel, SDF stands for Sealed Drag Fresh, is a scaled down version of the award-winning Abel SDS (Sealed Drag Salt) fly reel. The Abel SDF has porting similar to the Abel SDS and features a stainless steel/carbon Fluoropolymer drag system. This reel has a crazy amount of drag with an adjustment range that is 3 times greater than its previous model. One of the keys to protecting light leaders and not losing fish is its almost zero start up inertia.

In addition to Abel's world famous high gloss black coral (™) anodized reels we offer 15 different solid color anodized finishes to allow you to match up with the color of your preferred fly rod, match your company colors or your favorite sports team or just pick a custom color because it looks bad ass. You can also pick a textured, non-glare Satin finish that is skillfully silicon bead blasted by hand for greater durability, and is available in 4 different solid colors.
