The Grand Slam Shrimp was designed by Pat Ehlers of The Fly Fishers. This articulated shrimp pattern was designed with bigger bonefish in mind and it has proven itself on big bonefish in destinations like Andros Island. Pat has also used it for rolling and laid up deeper water permit in places like Mexico and Belize where we are fishing more and more swimming shrimp flies for permit. Well one of Pat's axioms is "more is better" so he tied it on a #2/0 hook and up sized it for tarpon. The name came after the fly as we have found out it is a great fly for all three species of the grand slam.
