Mink zonkers are perfect for tying flies like strip nymphs or small streamers. This little zonker strips can be used for a large variety of fly patterns. Try tying in a tan strip for a tail on a size #12 wet fly hook. Tie in 4 or 5 strands of peacock herl on top of the hook at the tie in point of the mink zonker strip. Dub the entire hook shank with a spikey dubbing like Wapsi SLF Squirrel Dubbing color Natural Grey. Pull the herl over the body for a wingcase and tie off. There you have a really effective hex nymph.
